Governor Noem Staying Focused On U.S.-Mexico Border

(Pierre, SD) — Governor Kristi Noem is keeping her focus on the ongoing contention surrounding the southern border. The Republican governor has made plans to discuss the immigration situation and the state of the current bi-partisan border bill with a joint gathering of the Legislature on Wednesday. She, along with House Speaker Mike Johnson, has sided with former President Donald Trump who called it a “bad bill.” Noem has referred to the U.S.-Mexico border as a “war-zone” several times now. She also has expressed her consideration to send members of the South Dakota National Guard to assist in Texas for a fourth time.
