(Watford City, ND) — A Watford City man who’s accused of burning his mother to death inside the bathroom of a home has been ordered to the North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown. Officials say Scott Beane will receive mental health treatment there to restore competency before his trial. The results of Beane’s recent psychological evaluation led to the judge’s decision to send him to the hospital. He’s charged with murder and illegal gun possession.
