(Rapid City, SD) — The City Council in Rapid City says it will vote next Monday on whether it should keep the Vision Fund Citizen Committee. The Vision Fund has been instrumental in funding several community-driven projects since 1972. However, some city leaders believe it may be time for a change. Ward 3 Council Member Kevin Mahar says he thinks the Vision Fund creates a lot of false hope because it lines up nonprofits asking for projects. He’d like to see the city council have more control of the money.
