(Undated) — The two-time defending national champions have locked up their head coach. One month after turning down the chance to coach the Los Angeles Lakers, UConn Huskies head coach Dan Hurley has signed a contract extension. The deal is worth 50-million-dollars over six years, with performance-based incentives, and will run through the 2029-30 season. In a statement, Hurley said that it is an honor to coach basketball at UConn and to represent the school and Connecticut. Hurley joined the Huskies in 2018 after time at Wagner and Rhode Island. In six seasons at UConn, he is 141-and-58 with national championships in 2023 and 2024.
