(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota leaders are reacting to the attempted assassination on former President Donald Trump over the weekend. Representative Dusty Johnson and Senator Mike Rounds both told KELOLand News they at least partially blame the political friction behind both political parties behind the violence seen Saturday. Johnson questions the Secret Service, saying it “failed America.” Rounds added, “leaders, rather than inflaming, need to tell everybody to calm down.” State Attorney General Marty Jackley said, “Certainly no elected official is immune, including myself, from violence,” noting he recently prosecuted a case involving threats in South Dakota to both the governor and a judge.
