(San Francisco, CA) — The Minnesota Twins have finally lost a series. The Twins dropped their rubber match against the San Francisco Giants 3-2 at Oracle Park to end a streak of six-straight series win.
Minnesota trailed by a pair of runs entering the top of the ninth before Manuel Margot tied the game with a two-run double. However, Margot made an ill-advised dive on a hit to the outfield the next half-inning which allowed Mike Yastrzemski to hit a walk-off Little League home run. Jhoan Duran was charged with his fourth loss in a row.
The Twins head into the All-Star break as the second place team in the AL Central at 54-and-42. Minnesota doesn’t play again until July 20th. In other club news, shortstop Carlos Correa will not play in the All-Star Game due to a foot injury.
