RC Regional Airport Sets New Passenger Record

(Rapid City, SD) — The Rapid City Regional Airport is celebrating a milestone record. Through the first six months of the year, the airport has seen the most passengers ever come through its doors. The number comes out to around 30-thousand more passengers getting on flights compared to this time last year. Executive Director Patrick Dame credits new flights, larger passenger planes and the Black Hills for the increase. Rapid City Regional’s new destinations include direct flights to Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Orlando with plans to also add direct flights from Houston and San Francisco for this year’s Sturgis Rally.
