(Cooperstown, NY) — Joe Mauer will be immortalized in Cooperstown this weekend. The former Twins catcher gets inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame on Sunday. The St. Paul-native spent his entire career with his hometown team from 2004 until 2018. Mauer led the American League in batting average three times, becoming the only AL catcher in MLB history to win a batting title. He was the AL MVP in 2009 and finished his career with 2,123 hits and a .306 batting average. Sunday’s induction begins at 12:30PM.
