(De Grey/Blunt, SD) — A World War Two Army corporal will finally be laid to rest in South Dakota. Corporal Robert A. Bartlett was killed in a tank battle in France almost three weeks after D-Day in 1944. But according to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, his remains had been unidentified until last May when scientists solved the riddle by using DNA evidence. Bartlett was initially buried in a Normandy cemetery — but now he’s coming home and he’ll be laid to rest next month in Blunt, just a few miles from his hometown of Grey.
