(Faribault, MN) — Investigators in Rice County say a man arrested after a standoff on Interstate 35 had more than 40 pounds of meth in his vehicle. Authorities were waiting for Donald Ray Sanderson when he entered Minnesota on Sunday after a tip that he was carrying drugs in his vehicle. The Minneapolis man evaded police for more than 20 miles before coming to a stop on I-35 near Faribault. He refused to surrender for several hours before running from officers and being caught in a nearby field. Sanderson faces multiple felony drug and weapons charges.
