Second Case of West Nile Virus Reported in South Dakota

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Make that two reported cases of the West Nile Virus in the state. The South Dakota Department of Health said yesterday a second case has been confirmed in Kingsbury County. The first case of the mosquito-borne virus was reported July 11th in Beadle County. The DOH is predicting the state will have 73 cases this year, which is a moderate level. Most people who become infected with WNV don’t develop any symptoms.
