Traffic Picking Up as Sturgis Rally Nears

(Rapid City, SD) — The annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally starts in about a week’s time but there’s already been an increase of traffic in the Black Hills area. Trooper Brandon Allen with the South Dakota Highway Patrol tells KELO they’re not only seeing people coming in for the rally, but also general families trying to get in that last trip before school starts. He says troopers are going to be keeping a close eye on speeders, unsafe driving and making sure folks are wearing their seatbelts. The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally runs August 2nd through the 11th.
