(Rapid City, SD) — One western South Dakota CEO says the new B-21 bombers coming to Ellsworth could rival Mount Rushmore. State lawmakers gathered for a panel to discuss preparations for the arrival of the B-21s. Tom Johnson, CEO for pro-business group Elevate Rapid City, spoke about the significance, saying, “”This is probably the biggest project in our lifetimes, especially in western South Dakota. He added it will likely have the same kind of impacts on the economy as the Mount Rushmore monument. Monday marked the first ever meeting for the Legislature’s Select Committee on Legislative Relationships with Ellsworth Air Force Base, led by co-chairs Republican Representative Gary Cammack and Republican Senator Michael Walsh. Republican Senator Mike Rounds was also in attendance.
