U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland Visits SD

(Sioux Falls, SD) — U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland is hearing from South Dakota law enforcement leaders face to face. He’s touring several states in the region, stopping in South Dakota yesterday for some important conversations. He was joined by Republican Senator Mike Rounds and also leadership from Native tribes in the state. They discussed safety issues around the different tribal nations, along with highlighting efforts to halt crime and drug distribution. Garland said he would go back to D.C. to work with the DOJ and DOI on how to get funding for grants to support South Dakota’s tribal nations.
