(Minot, ND) — The Souris Valley Animal Shelter is suspending all animal intakes, effective immediately. In a social media post yesterday, the Minot shelter said it was suffering an “urgent financial crisis” and is under threat of closing. The shelter said it would need 50-thousand dollars to fund short-term operations and an additional 250-thousand dollars to stay open through the rest of the year. The new SVAS facility opened back in 2021, but the organization has been operational since 1978.
