(LaMoure Co., ND) — An insect that generally spells doom for ash trees has been detected in North Dakota. The emerald ash borer was found in a trap in LaMoure County last week. There were adult beetles collected and a follow-up by the state Department of Agriculture confirmed additional larvae. North Dakota is the 37th state to report the finding of E-A-B. It is advised for anyone in LaMoure County not to transport firewood out of the county as that is one way to spread EAB from an infected area.
