news

(Bismarck, ND) — The State Auditor’s Office has found several issues that need to be addressed within North Dakota Health and Human Services. The audit found that HHS’s workforce retention program is ineffective, saying that money is being mismanaged and that some people who received grant money weren’t eligible. The audit also found that children in extremely abusive situations weren’t removed within the mandated timeframe of two weeks. It was also found that children in 83-percent of the cases didn’t receive their required in-person interviews on time.
