Davison County Auditor Resigns

News

(Mitchell, SD) — The deputy auditor for Davison County is reportedly stepping down. Davison County Commission Chairman Randy Reider told the Mitchell Republic that Jim Matthews has resigned effective this coming Monday. Matthews gave his resignation shortly after voicing his opposition to combining the Davison County auditor and treasurer offices into one finance officer position. Matthews said during a county meeting this week combining the two offices into one “will be creating bureaucracy, something I can’t be a part of.”
