(Sioux Falls, SD) — The rock band Foreigner is apologizing for denying stage access to a wheelchair-bound 12-year-old choir singer at Wednesday’s concert in Sioux Falls. Halle Bauman is a member of the Sioux Falls Children’s Choir, which had received an invitation to join the band on stage for the song “I Want To Know What Love Is.” Bauman’s mother said it wasn’t until just a few hours before the show they were informed that “safety hazards” wouldn’t allow her to be on stage. Officials at the Denny Sanford Premier Center said the decision was made by Foreigner. On Thursday, Foreigner bassist Jeff Pilson posted an apology on his Facebook page. Pilson commented “We’re deeply disappointed in the mistake made by our team” and added “music should be inclusive for all and we are taking steps to ensure our shows are accessible to everyone.”
