(Minot, ND) — A Minot jury has found Kamauri [[ kuh MAH ree ]] Kennedy guilty of murder in the 2021 death of Dominique Kelley. KMOT says it took the jury just three hours Tuesday to return a guilty verdict in the case. Kelley’s remains were found inside a burned vehicle in southeast Minot in June of 2021. Kennedy fled the state after her death but was later apprehended in Michigan. His lawyers argued that police conducted a targeted investigation of Kennedy and did not consider other suspects. The 35-year-old Kennedy will be sentenced in December. He faces life in prison without parole.
