(Donnybrook, ND) — State investigators are looking into an officer-involved shooting that sent a 22-year-old man to the hospital. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting happened late Thursday night in the town of Donnybrook. Renville County and Ward County deputies were responding to an “emergency complaint” when they encountered a man holding “what appeared to be” a silver revolver. According to the Sheriff’s Office report, the man pointed the gun at a deputy and another deputy fired two rounds. One shot hit the man in the torso and he was taken to a Minot hospital, where he’s listed in stable condition. The deputy, whose identity has not been released, is on administrative leave. No charges have been filed at this time.
