State Pen Lockdown Over

(Sioux Falls, SD) — The lockdown at the South Dakota State Penitentiary and Jameson Annex is over. The Department of Corrections announced in a news release that the lockdown ended on Wednesday. The DOC called the lockdown a “proactive security measure.” During the lockdown, officers conducted searches and seizures involving “dangerous contraband and illicit substances.” The DOC once again said there was no incident of a fight or assault that prompted the lockdown.
