(Bismarck, ND) — State officials say there are at least three wildfires currently burning in North Dakota. The biggest is the Ray-Tioga Fires east of Williston, which began as two fires and then merged into one massive wildfire burning nearly 90-thousand acres. The fire is responsible for two deaths and eight injuries. Officials say they have the fire mostly under control. Also burning in western North Dakota is the Elkhorn Fire, which has burnt nearly 30-thousand acres south of Watford City. The Bear Den Fire on the Fort Berthold Reservation, meanwhile, has destroyed over eleven-thousand acres and is only 30-percent contained.
