(Fargo, ND) — South Dakota State’s 32-game winning streak against FCS opponents has ended. Cam Miller threw a late touchdown to RaJa Nelson as number-two North Dakota State got a 13-9 win over number-one South Dakota State on Saturday night to claim the Dakota Marker.
NDSU snapped a five-game losing streak to SDSU with the victory. Miller finished 20 of 27 passing for 163 yards, Nelson had four catches for 48 yards including an 18-yard touchdown to open the scoring in the second quarter, and Chris Harris made a team-high five receptions for 41 yards.
Chase Mason had 80 yards and a touchdown for the Jackrabbits, who had gone 29-0 against FCS teams over the last two seasons on their way to back-to-back national championships. SDSU won five in a row after a season-opening loss at Big 12 school Oklahoma State.
Next up for the Jackrabbits is fourth-ranked South Dakota, which beat Youngstown State 27-17 Saturday. The Coyotes are six-and-one overall this season and five-and-oh against FCS opponents heading into Saturday’s Interstate Series match-up.
The Bison will try to push their winning streak to eight this Saturday at Murray State.
