House Bill Would Seal Records of Defendants Found Not Guilty

(Bismarck, ND) — A new bill is being introduced in the state house that would seal certain criminal records of defendants who were found not guilty. If passed, the bill would also apply to those who were pardoned by the governor. The aim of House Bill 1166 is to give those people some method of closure. Introduced by seven state representatives, the bill would also allow people found guilty of a felony to petition a judge for closure of records if that person has not committed any new crimes. >>Binford Residents Told To Not Use the Water
