House Approves Bill To Cap Insulin Costs

news

(Bismarck, ND) — State lawmakers are putting a cap on insulin costs. The North Dakota House on Thursday voted in favor of a bill that would set out-of-pocket costs for a monthly supply of insulin at 25 dollars. It would also put a 25-dollar monthly cap on insulin-related medical supplies. The caps would only affect those on individual, small group and large group insurance plans. Representative Carrie McLeod of Fargo says the bill will protect against price gouging from drug manufacturers. The proposal now heads to the Senate.
