(Grand Forks, ND) — DUI test results are being suppressed as a Fordville man faces felony charges for a fatal Grand Forks County car crash. Travis Dean Bell was involved in a crash that severely injured Nicole Louthain and ultimately killed her six-year-old daughter in June 2024. The 44-year-old was accused of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. However, the chemical breath test taken at a hospital after the crash won’t be allowed into evidence after a judge ruled in favor of the defense’s argument that the lack of a warrant and coercion made the test results inadmissible. Bell faces up to at least 20 years in prison after being charged with Class A felony criminal vehicular homicide and Class C felony criminal vehicular injury.
