(Rolette County, ND) — A settlement is being awarded to the family of a North Dakota woman who died while in custody. Jessica Allen was under the influence of methamphetamine when she was booked into jail in 2020 and died from side effects of the drug. The 19-year-old did not receive medical attention from corrections officers while having the medical episode, leading to a two-million-dollar settlement awarded to her family after winning a civil suit.
