(Belcourt, ND) — Crews continue to battle more than a dozen fires burning in the Turtle Mountains. High winds hindered the effort yesterday as Turtle Mountain Tribal officials considered an emergency declaration. They are in contact with state and federal agencies that are sending resources where they can. There were also reports of a fire on the Fort Berthold Reservation yesterday that ten different agencies were working to contain.
