Governor Armstrong Signs Speed Limit Bill

(Bismarck, ND) — Speed limits on North Dakota interstates are rising. Governor Kelly Armstrong signed the bill yesterday that increases speed limits to 80 miles per hour starting August 1st, but it also comes with heavier fines across all roadways. Drivers violating speed limits in construction zones with workers present are 150-dollars, slower speed zones will be 20-dollar for speeding or three-dollar for every mile per hour over the limit, and highways with a speed limit of 65 or higher will be 20-dollars or five-dollars for every mile per hour over the posted speed.
