(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota’s State Emergency Operations Center is upgrading to level two as statewide wildfires continue burning. Since Monday, at least 16 wildfires have been tracked by state officials and emergency services. Most of the fires have been contained by local first responders and the National Guard. Readiness calls have been held twice a week, and pre-positioned firefighting resources have been placed across North Dakota. However, fire danger conditions are expected to rise as the week continues.
