(Undated) — Today is the REAL ID deadline. REAL ID is an enhanced security driver’s license that will be needed to board any domestic airline flight in lieu of a passport. Homeland Security Secretary and former South Dakota governor Kristi Noem says travelers without Real ID will still be able to board flights for the time being, but will likely face more security steps before. This enforcement is not going to have much of an impact on South Dakotans because the state has been compliant with Real IDs since 2009.
