Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak (R-ND) applauded President Trump’s new trade agreement with the United Kingdom, calling it a win for North Dakota’s farmers, ranchers, and energy producers.
“This is great news for North Dakota and exactly what our producers need—expanded markets, fair terms, and real results,” Fedorchak said. “North Dakota grows and raises some of the best products in the world, and now we have greater access to one of the world’s largest markets. President Trump is committed to negotiating better deals for our farmers and ranchers. I applaud that commitment and look forward to more announcements like this to come.”
The agreement opens up more than $5 billion in new export opportunities for American producers, including over $700 million in ethanol exports and $250 million in additional agricultural products like beef. The UK will also eliminate discriminatory non-tariff barriers that have long restricted access for U.S. goods.
President Trump stated, “The deal includes billions of dollars of increased market access for American exports, especially in agriculture, dramatically increasing access for American beef, ethanol, and virtually all of the products produced by our great farmers.” He noted that today’s deal also ensures streamlined customs procedures, improves competitiveness for U.S. firms, and strengthens key supply chains for agriculture, aerospace, and pharmaceuticals. |
