(Bismarck, ND) — A Mandan man will remain imprisoned after a North Dakota Supreme Court ruling. Jesse Taylor Junior was sentenced to life in prison for killing Maurice Thunder Shield during an altercation at a motel in 2022. Taylor Junior attempted to appeal the conviction but was denied by the court justices. However, he will be eligible for a sentence reduction after serving 20 years of his sentence, and eligible for parole consideration after serving 55 years.
