ICE Raids In Madison End In Eight Arrests

(Madison, SD) — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is confirming raid operations took place in Madison yesterday. As a result, ICE arrested eight total people from two different manufacturing businesses. Three were detained from Manitou Equipment and five from Global Polymer Industries. Those arrested are from Nicaragua, Guatemala and El Salvador. Madison residents reported blocked streets and helicopters flying above during the raids. One witness described several agents wearing masks and vests. Both companies have since released statements expressing their commitment to comply with federal employment laws.
