Former SD DOR employee Sentenced In Fraud Case

(Pierre, SD) — A former South Dakota Department of Revenue employee is being sentenced for fraud. Attorney General Marty Jackley says Danielle Degenstein pleaded guilty Tuesday in a Hughes County court. She was given a suspended imposition of sentence. The 52-year-old was investigated for not reporting that a DOR employee forged a power of attorney document for personal gain. South Dakota’s DCI led the investigation.
