(Rapid City, SD) — One Rapid City woman is pleading not guilty in the stabbing death of her mother. Prosecutors say 26-year-old Taylor Bird Horse is charged with first degree manslaughter and aggravated assault in the April 7th death of her mother, 45-year-old Kari St. John. The incident happened at an apartment on North Maple Avenue. In court yesterday, prosecutors revealed the weapon used was a pair of scissors, though earlier reports had mentioned a knife. If convicted, Bird Horse could face up to life in prison. She’s set to appear in court again on July 24th.
