(Rapid City, SD) — A teenager is in custody for allegedly assaulting a train operator during a maintenance stop in Rapid City. It happened Wednesday morning when 18-year-old Jeremiah Olson climbed into the stopped train near LaCrosse Street and confronted the operator. The operator fought back, throwing Olson from the train before he fled the scene on foot. Olson was quickly tracked down by police and arrested through the help of witnesses. Authorities say the teen was “highly intoxicated” at the time. Olson faces several charges, including assault, burglary and underage drinking. He now has a preliminary court hearing set for May 30th.
