(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota’s Attorney General is pushing back against a federal proposal that could limit state control over artificial intelligence. Marty Jackley joins 39 other Attorneys General in opposing a congressional amendment that would block states from regulating AI for the next 10 years. Jackley says while AI has benefits, it also poses serious risks like election interference, exploitation, and harassment. The group has sent a letter to Congress urging lawmakers to reconsider the plan, which could become part of a larger budget bill.
