(Minot, ND) — A man will spend decades in prison for a 2023 shooting death in Minot. Quantdre Mersier pleaded guilty yesterday to a felony murder charge for the death of 29-year-old Ansu Kamara. The 31-year-old originally pleaded not guilty in February, but changed his plea to accept a deal for a 50-year conviction and will first serve 23 years. Mersier is currently incarcerated in Indiana for an unrelated matter and is expected to be sentenced in October.
