Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak (R-ND) today praised House passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill. This sweeping legislative package puts the federal government back to work for the American people and delivers long-overdue reform, including more than a $1 trillion cut in government spending.

“This legislative package is a big win for North Dakota families, energy producers, farmers, and every American who’s tired of Washington’s waste and overreach,” Fedorchak said. “This bill delivers real solutions: it secures our border, lowers taxes, begins to restore accountability, supports our farmers, and unleashes American energy. I’m proud to have played a key role in advancing this legislation to help get our country back on track.”

The One Big Beautiful Bill reflects five key priorities:

The One Big Beautiful Bill is supported by nearly 1,000 stakeholders:

Statement of Administration Policy: “The Administration strongly supports passage of H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. This bill implements critical aspects of President Trump’s budgetary agenda by delivering bigger paychecks for Americans, driving massive economic growth, unleashing American energy, strengthening border security and national defense, preserving key safety net programs for Americans who need them, while ending waste, fraud, and abuse in Federal spending, and much more… If H.R. 1 were presented to the President, he would sign it into law.”

Agricultural Retailers Association: “Swift passage of this bill will take a critical step toward revitalizing the agricultural economy and supporting rural America during these challenging times. This legislation strengthens the farm safety net, ensures essential investments in conservation, and includes tax provisions that offer much-needed relief to family farms and agribusinesses.”

American Farm Bureau Federation: “Farm Bureau is grateful for the work of the House Agriculture and Ways and Means Committees to include crucial farm programs and improve and extend necessary business tax provisions in the budget reconciliation process. Modernizing farm safety net programs and providing a fair tax code is critical to the success of America’s farmers and ranchers, especially in today’s strained farm economy.”

American Sugar Alliance: “America’s sugarbeet and sugarcane farmers and workers are proud to produce sugar right here in America. Unfortunately, our family farms and factories are facing immense financial pressures which are making it difficult to continue. Several American sugar processing facilities have permanently closed in recent years resulting in the loss of multi-generational sugarbeet and sugarcane family farms and sugar worker jobs – an urgent signal that the farm safety net needs to be strengthened in order to keep sugar production in America and provide food security for consumers. Since the expiration of the 2018 Farm Bill two years ago, sugarbeet and sugarcane farmers have been pressing Congress to update and improve the farm safety net. We thank Chairman Thompson and his colleagues for including in the reconciliation package necessary updates to the Farm Bill sugar provisions which have received strong, bipartisan support in past Farm Bill deliberations. We also thank Chairman Smith and his colleagues for including several tax provisions that will benefit family farmers in the reconciliation package, including vital tax relief that will make it easier for farmers to pass along their multi-generation operations and keep sugarbeet and sugarcane farms in America. The provisions in the House reconciliation package will help keep farm production in America and we urge the House to pass this bill.”

Coalition of 45 agriculture groups: “As representatives of the U.S. agriculture industry, we write to thank the Members of the House Committee on Ways and Means—particularly Chairman Smith—for their efforts to advance tax provisions that address the needs of farmers, ranchers, and small businesses. We are encouraged by elements of the package that will provide meaningful support to the agriculture sector. As the reconciliation process moves forward, we urge the House of Representatives to move swiftly to prioritize measures that strengthen rural communities and promote economic stability across American agriculture without delay.”

USA Dry Pea & Lentil Council: “As representatives of the U.S. agriculture industry, we write to thank the Members of the House Committee on Ways and Means—particularly Chairman Smith—for their efforts to advance tax provisions that address the needs of farmers, ranchers, and small businesses. We are encouraged by elements of the package that will provide meaningful support to the agriculture sector.”

Crop Insurance Professionals Association (CIPA), William Cole, Chairman: “The effort makes important strides to protect and promote the cornerstone of the farm safety net – Federal Crop Insurance – for our farm and ranch family customers. At CIPA, our aim is to make crop insurance as effective for every farmer, every crop, and every region of the country as it is where it works most optimally for our producers, and this effort makes important strides in this endeavor.

National Sunflower Association: “The National Sunflower Association strongly supports the farm program and other Farm Bill provisions included in the House Agriculture Committee’s Reconciliation package … Crop insurance remains the number one risk management tool for our growers so the enhancements to crop insurance are greatly appreciated. The increases to reference prices for the Price Loss Coverage (PLC) and improvements to Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) programs puts these programs more in line with the increased production costs our growers are currently facing. Additionally, the opportunity for farmers to update their base acreage, improvements to marketing loan rates, and funding to upgrade aging and outdated ag research facilities are vitally important to sunflower growers.

American Exploration & Production Council (AXPC), Anne Bradbury, Chief Executive Officer: “This legislation takes decisive steps towards improving our nation’s energy landscape by repealing the Biden-era methane tax, unlocking oil and gas development on federal lands, and alleviating regulatory pain points that have stymied the build out of American energy. Passing this bill is essential to secure America’s energy dominance through smart, durable reforms.”

American Petroleum Institute (API), Mike Sommers, President and Chief Executive Officer: “Congress has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to help restore American energy dominance, and Speaker Johnson and House Leadership have taken an important step forward with a pro-growth tax plan. From opening lease sales and advancing key measures on permitting to beginning to reverse a punitive ‘methane fee’ and preserving competitive tax policies, this bill leverages our nation’s vast energy resources, and we urge policymakers to support it.

Associated Equipment Distributors (AED), Brian P. McGuire, President and Chief Executive Officer: “The House budget reconciliation package restores certainty to the tax code, reinstates or extends critical policies from the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act, expedites the approval of energy infrastructure projects, and ensures all users of the nation’s roads and bridges pay into the Highway Trust Fund. This bill will spur economic growth and job creation, incentivize capital investment, and help AED members, who supply and maintain the equipment needed to build, feed and fuel America, remain competitive for years to come.

National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), David Long, Chief Executive Officer: “These provisions recognize the real-world needs of the electrical construction industry. Whether it’s power generation, grid modernization, cutting-edge data center projects, or clean energy installations, electrical contractors are at the forefront of America’s infrastructure evolution. This legislation gives our contractors the certainty they need to plan, invest, and grow. Without swift action, electrical contractors face rising tax burdens that will limit their ability to hire skilled labor, expand operations, and meet the demands of a transforming energy ecosystem.

Americans for Prosperity (AFP), Brent Gardner, Chief Government Affairs Office: “On behalf of our members nationwide, we applaud Chairman Guthrie and all the Members of the House Energy & Commerce Committee who demonstrated a clear commitment to rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse wherever they found it. Americans deserve a government that respects their tax dollars, fixes what’s broken, and works for the people who rely on it. The legislation coming out of this committee is an important first step to improving and modernizing our federal government and focusing programs and services on helping the people they were created to help.”

National Association of Manufacturers, Charles Crain, Managing Vice President of Policy: “On behalf of the National Association of Manufacturers and the 13 million people who make things in America, thank you for your work on the House’s reconciliation bill. Passing a reconciliation package with pro-manufacturing energy, environment, health, technology, and tax policies is a crucial component of the NAM’s comprehensive manufacturing strategy—which will support our industry’s efforts to drive investment, job creation, and growth in America.”

National Federation of Independent Businesses, Adam Temple, Senior Vice President for Advocacy: “Since its inception in 2018, the Small Business Deduction (Section 199a) has empowered 25.9 million small businesses to hire more employees, expand operations, and invest in their local communities…This bill would not only prevent a massive tax hike on small businesses, but it would also provide a tax cut for tens of millions of small business owners.”

March for Life: “We applaud Speaker Mike Johnson, Chairman Brett Guthrie, and the House Energy and Commerce Committee for including a provision to defund Big Abortion providers. Congressional action to stop taxpayer funding of elective abortions is long overdue. Under this bill, instead of spending taxpayer dollars to end the lives of innocent unborn children and put their mothers at risk of harm, these funds will now be redirected to community based, qualified healthcare providers that support both mother and child.”

AARP: “This is a very important measure that will provide meaningful tax relief to older Americans. This provision reflects real progress in addressing a long-overdue issue: the outdated income thresholds that have left millions of retirees paying taxes on their hard-earned Social Security benefits.”

National Border Patrol Council, Paul Perez, President: “The men and women of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) are proud to announce our support for the House One Big Beautiful Bill Act. This legislation provides a once in a generation investment in the border security of our great country and will make America safer.”

National Rifle Association: “H.R. 1 would remove suppressors from the National Firearms Act (NFA). This would remove the unconstitutional excise tax currently levied on suppressors as well as remove the onerous governmental restrictions including government registry, fingerprinting, extensive wait times, and the requirement of carrying proof of tax paid (ATF Form 4) while visiting a gun range. For nearly a century, law-abiding gun owners who wish to use a suppressor to protect their hearing have been subjected to burdensome government regulations. According to the ATF, these NFA restrictions are intended to “curtail, if not prohibit, transactions” of these lawful firearm accessories. Under H.R. 1, Americans could purchase suppressors with a simple point-of-sale background check, the same as for every firearm sold at a dealer.”

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce: “The U.S. Chamber of Commerce strongly supports the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which would permanently extend many of President Trump’s pro-growth tax reforms, curb excessive federal spending, and advance important regulatory reforms.”

Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR): “H.R. 1 is critical to providing our immigration agencies with the support they need after the historic flood of illegal immigration under the Biden administration. Funding measures to build the border wall, hire more CBP and ICE agents, and support cooperation with state and local law enforcement are commonsense steps that are crucial to combating illegal immigration. H.R. 1 is vital to ensuring that our borders are secured and our immigration laws enforced.”
