(Williston, ND) — An inmate who is serving life in prison for shooting at police is appealing his sentence. Joshua Martinez was sentenced to two life terms on May 8th after he was convicted earlier this year on two counts of attempted murder and reckless endangerment charges. The Williston man was accused of firing shots at police while fleeing from a traffic stop. The defense is basing the appeal on insufficient evidence. A hearing date has not been announced.
