(Williams County, ND) — Drinking water in Williams County wasn’t affected by a massive wastewater spill. State environmental officials said that an estimated three million gallons of produced wastewater were spilled last week after a pipeline failure. Continental Resources operates the pipeline, which contains saltwater with traces of oil and drilling chemicals. The state’s Department of Environmental Quality stated the impacted grasslands will be restored soon.
