(McKenzie County, ND) — A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in McKenzie County. Deputies responded to a call around 1 a.m. yesterday in East Fairview and made contact with Christopher Knels. The 31-year-old man allegedly pointed a gun and was struck several times by a deputy’s gunfire. Knels received medical aid and was taken to a hospital, where he died. The deputy has been placed on leave while the investigation continues.
