Residents Prepare For Williston Sales Tax Vote Tomorrow

(Williston, ND) — Williston’s Parks and Recreation’s sales tax vote is tomorrow. Since 2012, a one percent sales tax has been used to fund the department’s operations instead of property taxes. Executive Director Joe Barsh says the vote is necessary to maintain the tax identity to avoid switching tax categories. Officials believe the move to property taxes would delay long-term projects since the district relies more on shopping and recreation dollars. Tomorrow’s vote will be at the ARC Boardroom between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
