MSU And Minot Police Launch Apprenticeship Program

(Minot, ND) — A new tuition-covered apprenticeship program is available at Minot State University. MSU’s criminal justice program partnered with the Minot Police Department to offer real-world experience in law enforcement. Officials have noticed a decline in applicants at the police department over recent years, and hope the program will encourage younger people to join the field. The program offers eligible students the opportunity to earn a degree while gaining hands-on experience as part-time community service officers. After completing the program, students must then serve as full-time police officers with the department for a minimum of three years.
