(Undated) — South Dakota is joining a national fight to stop 23andMe from selling people’s genetic data. Attorney General Marty Jackley says he’s hearing from concerned residents after the company, now facing bankruptcy, looks to sell its data as part of a buyout. Jackley and 26 other attorneys general want the court to block the sale unless customers give clear consent. Jackley says there’s no excuse to transfer personal genetic info without permission. A decision from the court is still indefinite.
