(Williston, ND) — A write-in candidate has been voted into the Williston Basin School Board. Annette Sluder defeated Dennis Nehring after announcing her candidacy less than three weeks ago. Sluder received over 500 more votes than her opponent, and says she aims to retain teachers and improve student test scores in her new position. She is expected to start in July after votes are certified at the end of the month.
