Black Hills Energy Launches $280M Power Project To Boost Reliability In SD, WY

(Rapid City, SD) — Black Hills Energy is powering up a big project to better serve South Dakota and eastern Wyoming. The company just got the green light to start building the Lange [[ Lang ]] Two Project in Rapid City, a 99-megawatt power unit that will replace old equipment from the 1960s. Vice President Wes Ashton says it’s the most cost-effective option and will provide reliable, around-the-clock energy. The 280-million-dollar project kicks off next month and should be up and running by late next year.
