New Veterans Honor Park In Madison Opens With Dedication Ceremony

(Madison, SD) — Madison is coming together to honor veterans with the city’s new Veterans Honor Park officially opening over the weekend. The park is a joint effort between the local VFW and American Legion, along with support from the community since 2020. It pays tribute to those who’ve served, both locally and across the country. The space is designed for reflection, remembrance, and gratitude. Senators John Thune and Mike Rounds, Congressman Dusty Johnson, and Attorney General Marty Jackley all attended Saturday’s dedication ceremony. Senator Rounds said the park is a powerful reminder that veterans are respected and supported. Medal of Honor recipient Michael Fitzmaurice called it a great way to honor those who served and those lost.
